MindBay is a web and smartphone app designed for adults aged 18 and older experiencing mild to moderate symptoms of depression and/or anxiety. The app uses AI to deliver interactive Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) guidance. It helps adult users develop healthier thinking patterns, manage everyday stressors and improve overall emotional wellbeing.
Indication for use
MindBay is intended to be used independently or alongside talking therapy and/or medication by adults (18 years +) who are experiencing mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety and/or depression. The software provides CBT-based coaching sessions, self-
management exercises and mental health education to supplement routine clinical care. It is not intended to diagnose, prevent, or cure mental health disorders, nor to replace professional judgement.
Contraindications
Safety Information / Warnings / Precautions
MindBay is a self-help tool meant to complement, not replace, any medication, talking therapy or other care prescribed by your clinician. Continue all existing treatments exactly as directed. The app cannot send alerts to your healthcare provider. If your symptoms worsen, or if you feel at risk of harming yourself or others, stop using MindBay and seek help immediately by contacting your GP, dial 111, or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.

The core feature of MindBay is Growth Coach: Eight weekly, chat-based mental-health coaching sessions, each lasting approximately 25 minutes. At the end of each session, the AI recommends the most appropriate in-app CBT exercises for you to complete before your next session. You can also access all CBT exercises directly within the Growth Coach feature. Meditation exercises are available in the Mindfulness section on the home screen.

Instructions for use
MindBay is a web and smartphone app intended for adults with mild to moderate symptoms of depression and/or anxiety who are proficient in English.
Step 1: Download the app on your smartphone or open it in your browser
Step 2: When opening the app for the first time, you will need to create an account using your email address
Step 3: Once your email address has been verified, you will then have access to your mental health coach. Follow the instructions in the app to benefit from the programme

Growth Coach Sessions
After you create an account and complete the quick setup process, we recommend starting with your first Growth Coach session. Below an overview of what you will address at your first session:
In between sessions exercises
At the end of each Growth Coach session, MindBay will suggest two tailored exercises for you to complete before the next session. Practising these exercises is a key part of the programme: they consolidate what you have learnt, improve mood and strengthen your ability to recognise and change unhelpful thought patterns.
Notifications and email reminders
During onboarding you can opt in to receive gentle, personalised reminders of upcoming sessions and exercises by in-app notification or email. If you miss a session or an exercise, you may complete it later at your own pace, but following the recommended schedule—one session and two exercises each week—yields the best outcomes.
Continuous access
After onboarding, you will have access to the programme for 6 months.
